A new step in our development

We are pleased to announce that AlbatroVision has been accepted into NVIDIA Inception. This marks an important milestone in our work to develop AI applications for fisheries and creates opportunities to draw on a broader technology ecosystem as we turn vessel imagery into useful management information.

NVIDIA Inception is a free program supporting the development and growth of AI startups through developer tools, technical training, and opportunities to connect with the industry ecosystem. At AlbatroVision, we look forward to drawing on these resources to bring our product development closer to the practical needs of fisheries.

From vessel footage to useful information

For fleet managers, recording activity onboard is only a starting point. The next challenge is finding the events that need attention and getting that information to the people who can act on it.

This is the direction behind Fishtube, the AI-assisted electronic monitoring system we are developing. Our aim is to help organize fisheries footage so that reviewers can find and verify important moments more efficiently, while giving fleet managers clearer information. We want AI to take on some of the repetitive work of processing data, allowing people to make better use of their experience and judgment.

Exploring AI closer to the source

As an NVIDIA Inception member, we look forward to exploring ways to improve image analysis, model testing, and deployment. For our products, the value lies in helping our team evaluate technical options more efficiently and test them against real working conditions.

One area we aim to explore is onboard AI: processing some imagery and data on vessel equipment, then transmitting important information as needed. Our goal is to reduce dependence on a continuous connection. Developing this approach means considering image quality, available computing capacity, and onboard workflows together, then refining the design through testing.

Engaging with the wider AI ecosystem also gives us opportunities to explore technology integration and potential collaboration. We will assess these opportunities against the needs of fisheries, with a focus on tools that are easier to use and fit into existing work.

Practical tools for healthier oceans

At AlbatroVision, we believe sustainability has a stronger foundation when technology helps fisheries businesses solve everyday problems and improve the quality of their information. Our goal is to make imagery and data useful tools for fleet management, fisheries transparency, and ocean sustainability.

We look forward to building on this milestone as we continue developing AI products for use at sea. Follow AlbatroVision for updates on our product development and practical applications.
